2025 Summer Choral Festival

Children grades 3-5 are welcome to join us for our 2025 Quintessence Summer Choral Festival Kids' Choir!

Join director Louise Loomis , Quintessence Teaching Artists, and Summer Scholars for fun, games, and singing!

  • Kids’ Choir Camp runs Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18, from 9:30 to 11:30am.

  • Community concert Friday, July 18 at noon

  • Camp and concert at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona Street NE in Albuquerque

  • This is a secular kid’s camp

Tuition is $150 for the week, including materials and
t-shirt. Scholarships available!

Louise Loomis

 Louise Loomis, a longtime Albuquerque music educator received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from the University of New Mexico. Further studies include Orff-Schulwerk training from Denver University, Hamline University, The University of St. Thomas, the UNLV, and the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria. She has received the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Teacher of the Year Award, the John M. Batcheller Award for Excellence in Teaching Elementary Music, and the Albuquerque Arts Alliance Bravo Award for Excellence in Arts Education.

Louise has taught elementary music classes and choirs in APS and Manzano Day School, as well as Music Rhapsody classes for young children and their parents. She currently teaches at Sunset Mesa School where she produces annual full-scale musicals with fourth and fifth graders, and regularly prepares children’s choruses for Opera Southwest and the Santa Fe Opera. As a lifelong participant in choral programs, there is nothing she loves more than making music with young people.
