Park Sing at Hyder Park
Come sing with us at Hyder Park! Several Saturdays each year, we take advantage of the beautiful Albuquerque weather and sing together outdoors. Just bring yourself and something to sit on! We’ll provide you with sheet music when you arrive. No experience is needed, all are welcome to join!

Pop Tarts: Choral Arrangements of Top 40 Hits
Get ready for a deliciously fun musical treat! Pop Tarts serves up your favorite Top 40 hits with a choral twist. Join us on May 18 at 3pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church, where we’ll share a concert of familiar tunes reimagined with rich harmonies, clever arrangements, and a dash of choral artistry (served in perfectly portioned bites of entertainment). Whether you’re a fan of timeless pop anthems or today’s chart-toppers, this concert promises a fresh and exciting take on the songs you know and love.

Angels and Challengers: Celebrating Female Poetic Voices
Join us on March 9 at 3pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church as we explore the beauty, depth, and diversity of female poetic voices through music. This concert features stunning and unexpected musical settings of works by some of history's greatest poets, celebrating their courage, creativity, and vision. From the ethereal to the defiant, these compositions capture the essence of the human experience as seen through the eyes of women who have shaped the literary world. Sing Together: A Community Singing Event
Join St. John's Music Ministries and Quintessence: A Community of Singers for an informal singalong. All ages (including children!) are welcome. Music leaders include Paul Smith, Founder of VOCES8, Ann Wright, Director of Music Education for The VOCES8 Foundation, and VOCES8 musician Daniela Mars.

Beer Choir: Tractor Brewing Co. (Nob Hill)
Join us on Thursday, February 13 at 7:30pm for Beer Choir at Tractor Brewing Co. in Nob Hill. Beer Choir is the choir that sings while drinking beer - No experience is necessary! Just bring yourself and be ready to raise your voice (and your glass) with friends. Sheet music will be provided when you arrive.

Teacher Workshop: The VOCES8 Method
Teachers are invited to join us for a workshop on The VOCES8 Method, an innovative resource which encourages whole-school music making in a way that links music with literacy, numeracy and linguistics. Workshop will be led by Paul Smith, co-founder of VOCES8 and CEO of The VOCES8 Foundation, and Ann Wright, Director of Education for The VOCES8 Foundation. A light dinner will be served.
This workshop is made possible through a partnership with St. John's Music Ministries, Quintessence, The VOCES8 Foundation, and APS Fine Arts. With support from Chorus America and the Urban Enhancement Trust Fund.

Children of Light: Music of the Season
Join us for music of the season, featuring carols and other songs for the holidays. Featuring special guests: The Sunset Mesa Choir, directed by Louise Loomis.

Carol Sing at Sawmill Market
Get into the holiday spirit at our next community singing event on December 6th from 7-9 pm at Sawmill Market! Gather with friends, family, and fellow community members to sing along to your favorite holiday tunes in a festive atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned caroler or just love the music of the holidays, we invite you to join us for an evening of singing and fun.

Quintessence Performs in Tosca in Concert
“Tosca in Concert” is the New Mexico Philharmonic’s salute to Giacomo Puccini, commemorating 100 years since his death. Like the operatic presentation, the dramatic nature of Tosca in this concert performance will fascinate audiences as it has since its premiere. Renowned soprano Carmen Giannattasio will perform the role of Tosca and Brazilian baritone Leonardo Neiva will play Scarpia alongside Quintessence: A Community of Singers.

Common Ground: A Community Singing Event
Singers of all ages and abilities are invited to create a one-day pop-up festival chorus, singing music that celebrates our common humanity and shared purpose. Featuring music of Alice Parker, Mark Miller, Roland Carter, Jocelyn Hagen, Timothy Takach, and others. Registration fee of $25 includes scores (provided in advance). Singers meet at 12pm for two 90-minute rehearsals. Celebration concert is at 4pm. There is no admission charge for the concert. A free will offering will be received.

To Build the Sky: Music of Jocelyn Hagen and Timothy Takach
Join us for a concert of music by two of the most creative and accomplished composers of contemporary choral music working today. Featuring a performance by the composers themselves, as the pop duo NATION! Can’t attend in person? This event will also be available via livestream.

NATION in Concert
NATION is a collaborative vocal band pioneered by composer/performers Jocelyn Hagen & Timothy C. Takach. Expanding on their composing successes, the duo is quickly becoming known for reshaping the choral experience with singers around the globe. They are performing on October 18 at 7:00pm at FUSION as an official event of the Rising High Arts Festival.

Voices Raised: A Benefit Concert for Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless
Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM at St. John's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM, for Voices Raised: A Benefit Concert for Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless—This special concert features three remarkable choirs: Kantorei (St. Paul's, MN, directed by Adam Reinwald), Coro Lux (Santa Fe, directed by Bradley Ellingboe), and Quintessence (Albuquerque, directed by Matthew Greer).
Each choir will perform a selection of songs, culminating in a collaborative performance. Your attendance makes a difference, a free will offering will go entirely to Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless. Can't make it in person? Tune in via livestream and enjoy the music from wherever you are!

Beer Choir on Tour, Albuquerque Edition!
Beer Choir Twin Cities is joining forces with Beer Choir ABQ for an evening of singing and sloshing at Canteen Brewhouse! Come on out from 7-9pm on Friday, September 27th. As always, Beer Choir is FREE to attend, so bring your friends and come on down for what promises to be a delightful evening of singing together over some great beers.

Beer Choir on Tour, Santa Fe Edition!
The first of the two Beer Choir Tour events is happening at Beer Creek Brewing in Santa Fe! If you're in the ABQ/Santa Fe area, join Beer Choir Twin Cities and Beer Choir ABQ for some Beer Choir shenanigans on Thursday, September 26th from 5-7pm at the Highway 14 Headquarters location of Beer Creek Brewing!
Event is FREE to attend, and no talent is required, so just show up and sing.

The Lost Birds: An Extinction Elegy
The Lost Birds: An Extinction Elegy performed by the 2024 Quintessence Summer Festival Chorus with professional orchestra and conductor and Quintessence Artistic Director, Matthew Greer.

Beer Choir
Join us at Canteen Brewhouse (2381 Aztec Rd NE) on July 23 to lift our glasses and voices in song! We will be singing (and drinking) from 7:00-8:30pm. Beer Choir events are free to all to attend, and no experience is required. Just show up and sing!

Park Sing
Take advantage of the beautiful Albuquerque weather and sing outdoors with us at Bataan Park! We’ll be singing fun a cappella music from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, June 29. Singers of all ages and experience levels are welcome.
