Quintessence Performs in Tosca in Concert

“Tosca in Concert” is the New Mexico Philharmonic’s salute to Giacomo Puccini, commemorating 100 years since his death. Like the operatic presentation, the dramatic nature of Tosca in this concert performance will fascinate audiences as it has since its premiere. Renowned soprano Carmen Giannattasio will perform the role of Tosca and Brazilian baritone Leonardo Neiva will play Scarpia alongside Quintessence: A Community of Singers.

Common Ground: A Community Singing Event

Singers of all ages and abilities are invited to create a one-day pop-up festival chorus, singing music that celebrates our common humanity and shared purpose. Featuring music of Alice Parker, Mark Miller, Roland Carter, Jocelyn Hagen, Timothy Takach, and others. Registration fee of $25 includes scores (provided in advance). Singers meet at 12pm for two 90-minute rehearsals. Celebration concert is at 4pm. There is no admission charge for the concert. A free will offering will be received.

Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM at St. John's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM, for Voices Raised: A Benefit Concert for Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless—This special concert features three remarkable choirs: Kantorei (St. Paul's, MN, directed by Adam Reinwald), Coro Lux (Santa Fe, directed by Bradley Ellingboe), and Quintessence (Albuquerque, directed by Matthew Greer).

Each choir will perform a selection of songs, culminating in a collaborative performance. Your attendance makes a difference, a free will offering will go entirely to Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless. Can't make it in person? Tune in via livestream and enjoy the music from wherever you are!

Featuring soprano Hannah Stephens, alto Rebecca Ringle Kamarei, and the UNM Chorus, this concert is sure to inspire, intrigue, and engage.
